Chris Dickins
Chris Dickins is celebrating 50 years in Australian Theatre in 2023. He began writing plays when he was 8 and since then has improved a bit. Chris has had his plays produced across Australia and a few have been performed internationally. In 1993 he represented Australia in the UNESCO Five Writers from Five Nations ASSITEJ Conference in Frankfurt Germany.
Chris has been the Artistic Director of several theatre companies, many of them specialising in theatre for young people. He has also been a teacher and University lecturer in theatre. Chris currently lives in Fish Creek, Victoria where he continues to write plays and novels and also develops electronic music, creates pictures in pastel and develops collections of comic drawings.
He is married to award winning actor, director and designer, Christine and is father to Tom who works at The Victorian Arts Centre and is also a successful composer and musician.
